Day 3 - Hunting Lodge, Window Rock & Webster Parks

I thought it might be difficult to sleep with the bear encounter fresh in my mind but I had no troubles last night.  As morning approached I needed to take a bathroom break but there was no way I was getting out in the dark so I had to wait for sun up.   Today will be busy so we are up at 5:30 am.  We have a forestry demonstration, a tour of Waite Phillip's hunting lodge, a side hike up to Window Rock and then our hike to Webster Parks where we will set up camp.  Little did we know that the Hunting Lodge to Webster Parks will be 1000 ft gain which will prove difficult for this "flat lander" crew.

Not much if anything has changed in the Hunting Lodge since it was donated
to the Boy Scouts in 1941.

Lunch at the Hunting Lodge and then an uphill climb to Webster Parks

Did I mention it was uphill?

Chris comes through with cake!

Mr Bock frees the Frisbee from the disc eating tree.  I think the crew would
chop down the tree rather than leave the Frisbee behind in its branches.

A relaxing night in the meadow.  Chris shares his golf business idea
and Grant names it "Drink & Drive".  Root Beer of course.

A long hike indeed but well worth the effort.  Two other crews arrived well after dinner and it appeared that they went right to bed.  I wouldn't want to trade places with them.  This is our last night with Chris as he leaves us tomorrow morning.  I hope we can handle it on our own, we were trained by the best so I think we will be alright.
